Boman
editWould the name Boman be the same as Bahman? If so, shouldn't it be added here? Warrior4321Contact Me 15:57, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- Its covered with "and variants". Middle Persian loan words (ditto NP) have ambiguous spelling and pronounciation. If you add Boman, some idiot will turn up and say "its written B...". One of the more annoying things about certain ignorant WP editors is their assumption that Av.-derived proper names are spelled in some particular way. You'll run into them soon enough; the fools are identifiable by the fact that they never add any useful or meaningful content, but will argue with you ad-nauseum about how important their preferred orthography is.
- Just create a redirect (also add "{{R from alternative language}}" to the redirect). -- Fullstop (talk) 11:42, 16 July 2009 (UTC)
Satan? Really?
editChristians will name any deity from any mythology different from their own a figure of Satan. Does that really need to be there? 108.69.167.222 (talk) 01:42, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
Friends of Sabbath Reference
editI'm moving this section to the talk page for a bit of discussion. There are a couple of issues to discuss.
1) Can you please provide a proper citation for this reference. I am not the only editor that has brought up copyright concerns. In that citation can you please provide a page number for the specific section you are quoting for this support?
2) Can you edit your submission for proper grammar, including capitalizations? Also please review a bit to ensure it is written in an encylopedic manner.
3) Can you offer a bit to support that this source meets WP:RS requirements?
Here is the relevant text:
It seems likely that the judeo-christian angel Michael is derived from Vohu Manah.[1]
Thanks,

- I wanted to bump this a bit for review over the next week or two. I think A. Parrot answered point 3, so I think we can mark that off. I looked through the encyclopedia's Vohu Manah entry and didn't see any entry for Michael at all. It could well be somewhere else, but I'm not sure what the editor was referencing without a bit more detail. Squatch347 (talk) 16:25, 20 September 2018 (UTC)
- Exactly, "another attempt" which in context refers to failed connections is not a sufficient source for the text you added. Unless you can offer something from this source or another source supporting that connection is widely agreed to by scholars rather than just a single attempt, this should not be included as mainstream thought on this issue.
