Vogelsang, meaning
editThe translation of "Vogelsang" in the article:
The German word "vogelsang" can be translated as "a meadow in which birds sing"
is a pure invention and wouldn't be better with two scientificly doubtful references. "Vogelsang" means "the singing of birds" and is a well known family name in Germany. The most famous Vogelsang is one of the masters in the opera by Richard Wagner "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" ("The Master-Singers of Nuremberg"). --Cantakukuruz (talk) 12:14, 28 March 2020 (UTC)
Etymology
editThe US Geographic Names Board Decision List for Yosemite names published in 1932 states this peak was named by Benson for Alex T. Vogelsang. Ron Clausen (talk) 05:24, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
