Merge with Vodka?

edit

Once you've stripped out the 'production' section (see WP:NOT#HOWTO) then this article is looking pretty stubby and should perhaps be just merged into Vodka? FlagSteward 16:58, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The article seems to have veered away from what it was when I initially created it. It seems to be as much about flavoured vodka as vodka infusion now, though they aren't necessarily the same things. I don't think simply adding flavourings to vodka is infusion, the infusion is the process of the alcohol drawing the flavours out of the other ingredients itself. As such, it would probably be limited to only natural ingredients. It's a traditional hobby in some countries but I wouldn't have thought many commercial brands use this method (though a few certainly do). I don't suppose there is a strict definition of the term, but it's interesting to see what other people think. Perhaps I should have a go at cleaning up the article ? --WaterWolf 23:07, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I must have misunderstood. So taking lemon peel, putting it into vodka (without sugar) is vodka infusion but the commercially available stuff is "flavored vodka"? That's fine, and if that is the case I would support separate articles for each. Badagnani 00:19, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
I suggest that this article be merged with Flavored liquors because they are similar articles. Simon Bar Sinister (talk) 01:52, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
They do appear to be essentially the same thing, though flavored vodkas are probably the most popular flavored liquor. Badagnani (talk) 01:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
