Sources edit

User:Silver seren was kind enough to scare up these sources:

Husband edit

FloridaArmy Triyng to find more details about this person. A very famous actor of the period was Canada Lee. I found one book which claims his wife was Vivienne Baber (see first book in link). However I am not sure where to look in order to research this further. Bruxton (talk) 16:44, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I don't know User:Bruxton. Maybe User:Silver seren or User:Megalibrarygirl can point you in the right direction? FloridaArmy (talk) 18:15, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Are you specifically just looking for sources that confirm them being married to each other? SilverserenC 19:46, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Silver seren: Thanks for the message. i was following leads. Mainly to find her husband, in order to get more leads to uncover more about her. We do not have much biographical detail.Bruxton (talk) 22:50, 3 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I can't find anything in older papers claiming they're actually married, @Bruxton:, unfortunately. But I didn't find anything contradicting it either. And the book source you have seems reliable enough. SilverserenC 03:10, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Silver seren: Thanks for checking. Canada Lee was quite famous so if they were married it must have been a short one. I will likely wait to see if any other secondary source can be found. Bruxton (talk) 03:15, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

New sources edit

So, uh, @FloridaArmy:, @Bruxton:, I decided to go and look up the alternative names listed on this page for Mrs. Baber and I tried out Vivian Baber and...I think we've hit the jackpot, folks.

Have fun with these, you two. SilverserenC 06:08, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I went ahead and made use of the first three of these sources. Thanks —ADavidB 10:04, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the research. I located a photo of her. I was able to enhance it with software (not the one attached here) and I notice that she seems to have an eye problem based on the photo...zoom in on the original seen here. She is on the right in the photograph. It is the one called "Perry Wilson as Toni Tilden and Vivian Baber as Wini Bennett in "On Whitman Avenue"."Bruxton (talk) 19:40, 4 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Roberts? edit

I came across an unreliable source that suggested Baber married again to a man surnamed "Roberts". Can any of you with access to newspapers of the time find reliable sources to confirm this? I also found a "Vivienne Roberts" born in 1914 who died in 2003 and was buried with her husband in Michigan, but no other linkage besides the name and birth year being 'right'. Thanks —ADavidB 09:26, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

The only Vivienne Roberts I'm finding is someone who was a photographer, particularly for the Cherokee Historical Association. SilverserenC 18:13, 7 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

1911 edit

I found that she was born 1911 based on the 1925 U.S. Census (listed herself as 14). Also her family lists their race as Creole (mixed race). Her sister is listed. In 1930 she lists herself as Vivian instead of Vivienne and lists her age as 18. I have updated the article and include the document which I uploaded 2 census documents to Commons. I have not changed her birthdate on the article because I do not know how. I will continue searching Bruxton (talk) 03:22, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

FYI: the father's name is Henry Warren Baber 1894–1960 BIRTH 13 JUN 1894 • Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina, USA DEATH 18 FEB 1960 • Teaneck Township, Bergen, New Jersey, USA. He uses the name warren on the 1925 census and the name Henry on the 1930. Vivienne looks to have a middle name beginning with M. Somebody on ancestry built a family tree for her husband and her, and it shows death in California with no other information. Bruxton (talk) 04:25, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
This may be the family tree you mentioned. It gives "Mae" as her middle name, though is unfortunately not considered a reliable source for use on Wikipedia. —ADavidB 17:40, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
