editVitale Sala is not a major painter of the nineteenth century but worked alongside two of the major figures in court painting in the Piedmont at the time, working at decorating two of the royal palaces of the House of Savoy. His name is included in a biographical enciclopedia of italians. There are two sources, including one early 20th century review of Piedmontese painters of the prior century.
