Visual Kei edit

Are we all in agreement that visual rock and visual kei are directly related?- Oct. 30 2006 8:59 User:Blackout45

  • I would say yes, especially considering that Gene Simmons is one of the founders of the Visual Kei genre in Japan.Allegrorondo 18:42, 30 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I don't think its fair to say visual rock in general is an "Americanized version" of visual kei. American visual rock predates visual kei therefore I think it would be more fair to say Japanese visual kei is American visual rock's counterpart. Furthermore, Not all the bands listed here are American. Could these bands be better described as Western Visual rock? Must locational origin be cited at all? If so, I think it would be better to split this article into subcategories to which visual kei and glam rock would belong.--Jbluex 14:48, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • Ok. We can forget locational origin entirely. Its no so important anyways. And yes we could split it into sub categories. At the moment I'm working to get information on a band in America who use visual appeal to gain fans along side their amazing music. We can add them as a band that literally has the genre instead of just aspects of. Their is little known so far but I speculate that the band is all female except the vocalist who I believe to be a boy who has strongly feminin attributes. Should this band go major it will be our first "western visual rock band". I apologize for all things wrong with this page. It was my first.- Jan. 19 2007 User:Blackout45

Gorillaz edit

why are the gorillaz mentioned so often as an example of an American Visual rock band? Both creators of the musical act, one of which who is the main vocalist, Damon Albarn, are from the UK.--Jbluex 14:50, 2 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I apologize. This was my first page. I had forgotten about Damon Alburn.- Jan. 19 2007 User:Blackout45

If Visual Rock and Visual Kei are the same thing.... edit

Why are there two articles? Furthermore, they aren't the same thing at all except on an abstract conceptual level, and we don't use the term in Western music. As a further note, KISS didn't start the genre in Japan. That's blatantly untrue, as it actually grew out of new wave. I'm willing to discuss this, but an unsourced and incorrect article really needs to be AfDed unless it can be corrected, and as it doesn't even belong under this title, I don't believe it can. Agreed. I cannot help to consider this article a single editor's attempt to somehow establish the idea of a visual kei themed music genre, after the main article adopted the more general notion of a movement. Hence the WP:V, WP:OR themed tags, I might just write up an AfD nomination later tonight. - Cyrus XIII 16:43, 19 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
I assure you that no offense was meant through this article. I was merely trying to give a discription of this genre and visual kei was a very similar thing. I am truly and utterly sorry. I don't believe the two are the same thing but they are related. I'm sorry. This was my first article and I'm only a high school student. I was just trying to help. By the way. Visual Rock isn't a music genre at all but more of a genre of band.- User:Blackout45 10:36, Jan. 25, 2007

Finally Here edit

I may have finally gotten a break. The members of the band mentioned before have agreed to allow me an interview. I will give more info when I get it. We may actually have a visual rock band to put on our page! Exciting!- User:Blackout45 9:14 jan. 25 2007

Still, this would probably not align this article with Wikipedia policies (see WP:BIO and WP:RS), hence the nomination for deletion. This is nothing personal and likewise no one is offended by your contributions, as you are new to Wikipedia and mistakes will happen. So please stick around, regardless of what happens with this article.- Cyrus XIII 23:13, 25 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Since they follow the genre they may be able to be a resource and even contributor to this article. They, of course, have a schedule and I have not yet gotten to talk to them. I will try. And besides... even if this article is (hopefully not) deleted I can still make a page for the band. Thank you for the understanding and some help would be nice. I would like any tips to be posted on my user discussion page. Thank you all.- User:Blackout45 10:49, 26 January 2007
Have you read WP:BIO? Because the band you keep mentioning might not be notable enough to warrant an article (see also: WP:BAND). - Cyrus XIII 16:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
