Birthdate controversy
editAlthough the IMDb (which is not considered 100% reliable) has her birth year as 1952 (which would make her an unlikely 54 years old), other sources give her year of birth as 1959 and the Farscape fansite www.crichtonisms.com says 1962. So which is it? I'm going with 1959 as that is what was originally used in this article. For the record, the IMDB is the ONLY place I have ever seen a 1952 birth year used (other pages appear to simply be using the info from IMDb). If it's going to be changed back to 1952, then a citation from an OFFICIAL source -- not a user-edited source like IMDb or a celeb nudie pictures site -- needs to be cited otherwise it'll just get changed again. And if someone can confirm that the 1952 date is wrong, the IMDb needs to be informed about this. For my part, I was once a member of her mailing and I remember something in an e-mail about a 40th or 41st birthday party only a few years ago. Using the Archive.org Wayback Machine (since her official site appears to be not completely online anymore) there's no indication of her age in her online biography. There's a mention of her attending art school with her mum in 1971, but that's not uncommon for children so isn't really an indicator one way or the other. 23skidoo 17:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
More on the Birthdate controversy (con-TROV-er-sy?)
editI don't think a 1952 birth year is that unlikely, mainly because (despite what you've said) it IS pretty unlikely that she was attending a diploma-granting program at age 12. Unless college is far different in Australia...
- Please "sign" your posts with four tildes (~~~~). For the record, in 1977 the Australian Woman's Weekly said she was aged 25. And in a Facebook post dated May 2019 announcing her retirement, she said she was 67 years old. These both support the 1952 birth year. (But in 1983 the Sydney Morning Herald claimed she was only 28 years old – suggesting a 1955 birth year. Go figure.) Muzilon (talk) 11:03, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

- Done. It's ridiculous that this has been left unresolved for more than 2 1/2 years.68.146.81.123 (talk) 14:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Poorly sourced
editThis article relies too heavily on the IMDb which is not considered a reliable source of information. 68.146.81.123 (talk) 14:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC) -- says who?! 59.167.111.154 (talk) 13:37, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
The reference to her "kidneys bleeding" is a bit disingenuous -- the source (Hey's own writing) is clearly subjective and from the tone makes it clear she wasn't literally peeing blood. Matthias Alexander Jude Shapiro (talk) 06:39, 30 October 2013 (UTC)
