Speedy deletion?

edit

I disagree that this article is a candidate for speedy deletion. I would think that being the oldest collegiate a cappella group at the University of Virginia and selection for BOCA is sufficient indication of significance/importance. -Tjarrett (talk) 19:46, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Noting to add to Tjarrett. But they are right. Prestonmag (talk) 22:47, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Do you understand WP:N, Tjarrett? I will be prodding this later.--TM 04:45, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I understand WP:N, but per WP:SPEEDY an article with demonstrated significance or importance cannot be put through speedy deletion even if there is a notability question. It should be put through the proposed deletion process so there can be discussion. Thanks for applying the proper template and I look forward to working with other editors to demonstrate notability. -Tjarrett (talk) 14:21, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notable alumni

edit

I'm currently working on building out information about notable alumni of the VGs. First two I found were two of the members of Parachute; unfortunately the one non-UVA site I found that mentioned the connection is blacklisted (Examiner.com) so I can't link to it in the reference. Any advice on how to handle this issue? -Tjarrett (talk) 14:51, 13 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! To any and all interested: I've proposed a WikiProject dedicated to a cappella. This would be a group of editors interested in improving the quality of articles related to a cappella. If you're passionate about a cappella—ranging from the Pentatonix to collegiate a cappella groups like the Virginia Gentlemen, or perhaps pop culture representations like Pitch Perfect and The Sing-Off—please check out the proposal and share your thoughts!

Here's a link to the proposal for WikiProject A Cappella.

If you could see yourself contributing to an article related to a cappella (like this one), please consider joining!
