Controversy section edit

- Agreed -- virtually every elected politician in the country, in every level of government, every single year, is subjected to an individual trying to raise signatures to oust them. That's part of the Democratic process. Only if a recall effort gets enough signatures to go on the ballot should it be considered newsworthy, and even then, in some cases so few signatures are needed to get on the ballot that certain elected officials have a recall effort placed on the ballot every single time anyway. Mentioning an effort to recall an elected official that doesn't even qualify to get to the ballot... well, that's the equivalent of saying "Politician X does not have a 100% approval rating". Neutrality edit
I question the neutrality of the "As Mayor" section. This reads like a campaign advertisement, and not an objective article. The sources include a vague press release and a CNN appearance with little or no evidence of his accomplishments as mayor.
I removed this section due to the fact it was added in by an IPaddress regeistered to a user in the government of Lansing, MI. Seems to be an obvious campaign speech.

Name change edit
Shouldn't this article be renamed "Virg Bernero" instead of "Virgil Bernero"? Isn't this his real name? This would require a Move within Wikipedia of course. Alandeus (talk) 08:55, 5 August 2010 (UTC)
