Alas, I am not sure exactly how this works. I was a principal contributor to the VideoWRITER project (note the captialization -- that is correct). As software engineer, assistant product manager, and principal designer of the VideoWRITER app, help files, and fonts, I was in all the meetings, and was hopefully in the know as to what went on. Problem is -- I don't know who to cite (myself?) to back up the statements which I certainly believe are factual and (generally) complete.

What I'm fuzzy about is the quantity sold (somewhere in the 350-500K range). However, I intend to run this article by the lead software engineer for the VideoWRITER, with whom I recently shared some work, to see if he concurs. If so, maybe a citation naming us both?

I would be glad to receive e-mails on this article, to better document this interesting project. Greglweinstein (talk) 03:28, 27 July 2012 (UTC) Greg Weinstein greg@gregweinstein.net I'm curious about: "in 1984, the Magnavox Odyssey held 55% of worldwide console market share." Certainly that must mean the Odyssey 2, not the original Odyssey (although the Odyssey 2 was known as the Odyssey in some markets). I know the Odyssey 2 did well in Brazil, but even so, the console was cancelled in 1984, by which time the Atari VCS (2600) had outsold the Odyssey by a huge margin, and there were many other competitors. I would be surprised if the actual share was more than 10%. Does anyone have a source for this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.12.185.109 (talk) 19:21, 17 August 2015 (UTC)Reply

I've sent you an email and would be glad to run an interview of yourself and your colleague about the VideoWRITER. 82.65.231.86 (talk) 10:19, 1 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
