You can find the piece at the following website: http://www.evanstongroup.com/kevin/music.htm

Or alternatively, you can buy it on itunes. Mark t young (talk) 22:12, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

No, it actually means "See my heart." But yes, it is beautiful. --Kay Dekker (talk) 01:06, 2 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actuall it means “behold my heart”. 2600:1700:9900:14D0:4D4:35C8:8788:C5E7 (talk) 01:01, 15 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Vide, more than just see edit

Some translations of La Vita Nuova render it “behold my heart.” This is equally valid and in the sonnet’s context, actually more accurate. The statement is much more profound than the merely lexical translation of vide = “(you) see.” Rather than merely noticing or witnessing (“see” my heart), the intent is to observe, consider, reflect upon, and acquire understanding of the speaker’s heart (“behold” my heart). I suggest it be included in the article as an alternative translation. It certainly improves upon the merely lexical translation of “see” by making use of vide’s semantic domain to give the wiki reader a better understanding of the phrase’s meaning and the author’s intent. 2600:6C4A:7740:10:0:0:0:184B (talk) 02:21, 31 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
