Photo needed

Update needed
editOn 30 June 2011 Cecil Reddy, Chairman and owner of McDonald Holdings, announced that the majority shares held by his company were being sold to Excalibur Aerospace making Excalibur the holding company and therefore Cecil Reddy is no longer the Chairman - the list of key people needs to be up-dated. Route additions and fleet expansion
editI've added information about the new Durban-Port Elizabeth-Cape Town route and also the two "new" 737s joining the fleet. I have found several non-reliable sources that state that the DC-9 is being kept in the fleet to serve the Johannesburg-Polokwane route which has lower passenger numbers than the other routes.
Unfortunately in South Africa the so called non-reliable sources such as the AVCOM forum are in fact much faster and more accurate as far as specific detail is concerned than the mainstream press. The aviation fans that use the forums are much more knowlgeable about "esoteric" detail such as specific models of aircraft and the exact dates that such aircraft are put into service. The mainstream media are nototrious for not always being sure about the difference between a Boeing and a Cessna. Meanwhile Velvet Sky itself has not updated the news page on their website in many months - they actually have a Facebook page that they use for releasing more up to date information.
