The distribution map should be going down to as low as Perth and Sydney now it seems: https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/201636-Valanga-irregularis

QLD government also confirms the low as Sydney distribution: https://www.business.qld.gov.au/industries/farms-fishing-forestry/agriculture/biosecurity/plants/insects/horticultural/giant-grasshopper
