name of the organisation
editVnesheconombank - the old name of the organisation. Today you can find current nome of this organistion on official web site https://veb.ru/en/about-us// That`s why i ask you to change name of this article on VEB.RF
Untitled
editThere seems to be, or at least have been serveral banks with names similiar to "russian development bank". I'm not quite sure if it's correct to refer to the latest incarnation of the VEB as the "russian development bank, but it seems like that's the most common practice. Employer of Evgeny Buryakov?
editThe alleged Russian spy the FBI announced today, by the name of Evgeny Buryakov, supposedly worked for an "unnamed NYC-area bank". A public LinkedIn profile of someone with that name, location, and occupation gives their role as "Deputy Representative at Vnesheconombank". ( https://www.linkedin.com/pub/evgeny-buryakov/29/826/717 ) Does anyone have any reliable source for that information? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samkass (talk • contribs) 20:49, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
What did happen to the article Ruskombank?
editIn EN:WI there once existed an aricle "Ruskombank" (Рускомбанк). Why is there just left a relink "Roskombank" and why is there used the writing Роскомбанк instead of Рускомбанк?----130.83.197.103 (talk) 11:48, 17 August 2017 (UTC)
Blockchain developments
editThis seems important and should be included in "History" timeline, but I don't know anything about blockchain or bitcoin and don't intend to learn. So if someone wants to interpret this and include it,

Incorporate "Activities" section into lead?
editThe Jared Kushner section has been reduced to one sentence, stuck into in "Activities." I'm moving the sentence to "History". The rest of the"Activities" section only describes what the bank does—as such should be incorporated into the lead section IMO (and that lead be rewritten) Fishlandia (talk) 15:21, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
Time to remove "recent events" tag?
editIf that was put up in response to the Jared Kushner content. The article seems to be now a lead describing what the bank does, then a dynamic history timeline, which will always be updated to reflect recent events. Then a tiny appendix "Organization", which might as well be above "History" too IMO.Fishlandia (talk) 15:23, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
Rename
editIt appears that in November 2018 M. Putin signed off on the name change to ВЭБ.РФ, which is now the organization's domain name https://ВЭБ.РФ/. This is an initialism for Внешэкономбанк combined with the top-level domain name .рф of course.
The English alphabet transliteration of this would be VEB.RF, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English).
Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (capitalization) we could use veb.rf, although the official Romanized domain name is in fact https://veb.ru/ (because .ru is the English CCTLD rather than .rf) and Wikipedia:Naming conventions (acronyms) shows that uppercase is appropriate.
So I suggest rename to VEB.RF with redirects at veb.ru and veb.rf.
Image lost over fight about the logo
editIt would be nice to have File:Vneshekonombank.jpg back in the article. Assuming that the bank is still in that building, of course. Uncle G (talk) 21:00, 5 August 2019 (UTC)
Non-political??
editSeems very odd, in an effective one party state, controlled by the Duma and chairman is the Prime Minister and multiple bailouts by government, can anyone confirm any of this from any reliable sources? The Original Filfi (talk) 10:25, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
