"Kabelvåg is the oldest fishing village in Lofoten, where King Øystein built the first fishing shacks in the early 12th c."

Vågan is even older than that and may date back to the iron age, how far back is difficult to say, but some have speculated to about 600. --128.39.12.150 09:29, 11 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
