I am trying to put together a list of the places where the UAA has received what Wikipedia would call 'significant coverage'. I would also like to request that a Wikipedia user that speaks Uyghur be asked to check out this page.

It has undertaken the Uyghur Human Rights Project (UHRP) as part of its struggle to improve human rights conditions. I would like the admins who consider this article for the mainspace to also take a look at the Tianshannet page that I created recently. Since 2001, Tianshannet has been the sole official media outlet in Xinjiang, but there's very little substantial coverage of the organization, especially in English. Xinjiang/East Turkestan is a little understood area of our world, and the number of references I have provided on this page is more than what we see on any given page for the various counties of Hotan Prefecture, Kashgar Prefecture, etc which until recently were basically blank pages. Based on the sources I compiled and the coverage above combined with my personal experience editing Xinjiang-related pages over the past six months, I think UAA is clearly a prominent organization within the context of Xinjiang and the Uyghur American community, which itself is extremely small. If in the judgment of Wikipedia admins the UAA organization is not yet ready for a page on Wikipedia, then I will transfer the material gathered here to the Uyghur Americans page and make the 'Uyghur American Association' page a redirect to the 'Uyghur Americans' page.
