Typo
editThere is a typo, at the bottom of the page, I would fix it, but I don't know what the author was trying to write. —Preceding unsigned comment added by M4bwav (talk • contribs) 14:58, January 12, 2006 (UTC)
Say huh?
edit- The first UDP software was written by Karl Kleinpaste in 1990, though there is disagreement when the term itself was coined: the Net Abuse FAQ claims 1993, but a messages posted on 18th August of that year claims that it was "years earlier". Eliot Lear coined the term.
How can we know who coined it and not when it was coined? Wouldn't Eliot Lear be able to remember? This seems to cast doubt on Eliot Lear's coinage of the term. - furrykef (Talk at me) 19:04, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
What about a UDP "today"?
editWhy have UDP's -- and similar strategies -- been abandoned? Have the malware/spam/etc crowd simply become too entrenched & too distibuted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.130.67.253 (talk) 21:41, 25 November 2011 (UTC)
Undoing some Linkrot
editSource "Andy Patrizio (13 January 2000). "Dead ISP Walking". Wired." reported as linkrot. Found the article on the website, albeit now it's http://archive.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2000/01/33638 instead of http://www.wired.com/science/discoveries/news/2000/01/33638. If anyone who knows what they're doing and ever sees this, please either do a snapshot in the WayBackMachine, or something so it doesn't re-rot. 72.209.157.22 (talk) 08:47, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
- I didn't see your post until now, but I fixed it. I don't think we need to worry overmuch about it disappearing again. If it does, then we'll find the Wayback archive. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 19:34, 31 January 2015 (UTC)
External links modified
editHello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Usenet Death Penalty. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive https://web.archive.org/20051211221649/http://www.cybernothing.org:80/faqs/net-abuse-faq.html to http://www.cybernothing.org/faqs/net-abuse-faq.html
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true to let others know.
