editHello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Ursus Darłowo 2009.JPG will be appearing as picture of the day on July 28, 2011. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2011-07-28. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 22:56, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
is the figure for the cylindre size correct. 10300cc. it seems awefully big. should it be 1300cc?

Kids, you are not old enough to know these tractors and the Lanz bulldog. They were still around in the early 50s. So I may convince you that they really had 6 liter and 10 liter one-cylinder engines. The cylinder had to be pre-heated with a blow-torch! (Or by making a wood fire under it!).
Related engines of that kind at the time would in addition even need a plug of saltpeter-phosphorus mixture coated cardboard inserted into a screw-top opening of the cylinder. This would act like a huge match head, giving an explosive flame. Then a decompression valve had to be opened. Then the engine had to be cranked by (strong) hands. It had I guess a 100 pounds flywheel. It was impossible to crank against the compression with a cylinder like a big bucket. Then the decompression valve had to be closed, once the flywheel was up to speed. Then the following happened: (decompression valve open) oooof- phhhhh- ooooof - phhhh - ooooof -phhhhh (now close decompression valve!) oooooomphhh...kabooom!!! (pyrotechnic ignition) - phhhhhhhhh (big black cloud)- kabooom-phhhh-kaboom-phhhh... Engine running. With every kaboom a cloud of black smoke with smoke rings around it coming from the exhaust! 70.137.129.130 (talk) 08:02, 29 July 2011 (UTC)
