editI just want to say how much I appreciate someone writing this up. Ironically, I'm linking to it from the School of Public Health's website since it has better information than I have about the current state of things.
One quibble, though: Shouldn't this article be titled "The University Of Washington Global Health Department?"
I'm unsure of the name of the department, BTW. Departments within the School of Public Health are "Department of X" but in the School of Medicine they are often "X Department" as well as "Department of X." --D Wilbanks 01:28, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with the suggestion to move to "The University Of Washington Global Health Department"--140.142.188.93 23:17, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
- I agree, with the provision that The is stricken and Of is lowercased, so "University of Washington Global Health Department". --Lukobe 00:08, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
- I received some initial confirmation that it will be the Department of Global Health. Therefore, the correct title should be "University of Washington Department of Global Health". --D Wilbanks 19:08, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Seems to imply that Merson is new chair...?
editDon't see this confirmed anywhere: "The future of the department under Michael Merson's direction will be watched carefully."
Is he selected chair?
Negotiations have opened between the two schools and Merson, but to my knowledge he has not signed a formal offer letter. --D Wilbanks 02:42, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
- I tried to rewrite--140.142.174.141 20:06, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
official name...
editI've heard that the official name will be "Department of Global Health" rather than "Global Health Department".
