Contested deletion edit

This page should not be speedily deleted because it is on a topic of interest to the public in general.

There are several pages that specifically deal with Honors Colleges at private and public universities already on Wikipedia see Barrett, The Honors College and University of Arkansas Honors College, in fact there is a wiki page listing honors colleges in the US. This demonstrates that Honors Colleges are a topic of interest in general.

In specific the Honors College at the University of Utah is of public interest as it is the Honors College of the largest state school of Utah see University of Utah and has been in place since 1962, making one of the earlier honors colleges/programs in the nation.

Moreover its content is not substantially different from the other Honors College pages listed in the above linked list, which haven't met the criteria for removal. Additionally this article lists far more references which extend outside of the the institution itself, including news paper articles and printed volumes, than the above linked colleges which have not met the criteria for deletion. This again demonstrates that this is a page which is not solely for the purpose of publicity/marketing, but actually gives information on a topic relevant to the public interest.

For all of these reason I do not believe that this article warrants a speedy deletion.

Thank You, Kelly O'Neill
