Dieter Grossmann edit

Sorry, but I had o delete the section on Dieter Grossmann. This article gives a very short overview of the university of Ulm, and I do not see the relevance of mentioning this artist. The university of Ulm does not even possess a school for artists, so Mr Grossmann probably just gave extracurricular courses (like many other renowned artists, philosophers, who are also not mentioned in the article).—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Candidus (talkcontribs).

Name consistency edit

University is called "University of Ulm" instead of "Ulm University" several times, in the title ("Ulm University" redirects here) and throughout the article. Official english name is "Ulm University", as it says in the logo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pushtitle1776 (talkcontribs) 22:56, 21 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

University of UlmUlm University – The article should be named by the name that is most often used (also in the article itself). The link could use the name which is more rarely used. Not the other way round like it is currently. In its logo the university is named, "Ulm University". The university itself seems to use both English names on its webpage. A google site search of "University of Ulm" site:www.uni-ulm.de yields 5470 hits. A google site search of "Ulm University" site:www.uni-ulm.de yields 26500 hits. • Support – As you mention, the article title should follow WP:COMMONNAME. (That said, the article needs some major cleanup and needs to be rewritten to use proper English.) --V2Blast (talk) 09:51, 22 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
I changed the discussion from multi-page move to a single-page move. Both names are the of the same university, so this may have been malformed. --George Ho (talk) 02:16, 23 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
Not sure, the link page disables a simple move. Jocme (talk) 20:23, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • "University of Ulm" has more than 5x as many hits on Google Books as "Ulm University". Dekimasuよ! 03:35, 26 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
    • Guess the authors looked at the de.Wikipedia translation link ... on Google search there is less difference (after several years of influence by Wikipedia).Jocme (talk) 20:23, 27 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • I doubt that Wikipedia has influenced usage in Google Books, and many of the books captured in the search predate Wikipedia. Dekimasuよ! 07:00, 2 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
