Edit getting deleted

Hi,

I was reading up on UTPB on Wikipedia and noticed that there was no information about the online degrees at all. So I added a line with the link to the online portal. It got deleted, did I do something wrong? I thought it would help prospective students like me to explore their option. Did I edit it wrong? How do I rectify this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Everything education (talkcontribs) 22:12, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a venue for promotion, and we don't want external links added for that purpose.
The solution is to find references independent of the university and their online degree programs, then add information to this article based upon those sources. --Ronz (talk) 18:02, 7 February 2017 (UTC)

University changed its name: how to edit

"University of Texas Permian Basin" became the name of the former "University of Texas of the Permian Basin" in 2019. I would like to make this correction, but since I am not an expert on Wikipedia structure, I'm concerned about making changes that would leave dead links all over. Any advice is appreciated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.118.78.25 (talk) 13:03, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
