Suggested merge of T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies to here

After doing a basic search for supporting references, it is my belief that T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies does not have sufficient information in reliable sources to provide independent notability. While that article currently has a rather promotional tone, there does appear to be some encyclopedic information there. I therefore propose that the article is merged here. It seems to me that more effort should be put into getting independent sources, and especially having archived inline citations to prevent link rot. The center and its objectives are very topical for today's energy issues.--DThomsen8 (talk) 02:01, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your comments. Topicality is distinct from "notability". Per Wikipedia:Notability: "If a topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to satisfy the inclusion criteria for a stand-alone article or stand-alone list." I am not suggesting that properly referenced encyclopedic content should be removed from the encyclopedia, rather I am suggesting insufficient coverage in reliable sources exists to support a standalone article for the T.C. Chan Center, and the encyclopedic information there is better merged into this article. If you wish the article T.C. Chan Center for Building Simulation and Energy Studies to be retained, the best thing to do is demonstrate that the significant coverage required exists. The onus is on you, not me or somebody else (WP:BURDEN). This coverage does not exist in the references of the article, nor have I been able to find it as yet in my searches to date. I think that the TC Chan Center has enough existing coverage from independent sources to merit a wikipedia page. I have added active links to the article to substantiate this. It also seems this Center has extensive coverage throughout the Middle East and China (not in English and therefore it will take longer to find them). They have developed a sustainability rating system that is now part of building code for a Country in the Middle East; therefore, their research contribution to green buildings is substantial and they continue to work on new academic research that will contribute to this field. They function as a Center within Penn, but with their own projects/goals/objectives/partners, similar to PennPraxis which also has their own wikipedia page. Updates to School's name and list of degrees

I am requesting that non-historic references to the School use "Weitzman" or "School of Design" instead of "PennDesign," since the "PennDesign" name was formally retired in February of 2019. It's worth noting that the School's website continued to use the "PennDesign" name and logo until August of 2019, when the School's new logo was introduced and the website's text was updated for the new name.
