Merger

Seems I'm the first one to start off the discussion despite not actually starting the merger proposal (bad form, proposer...would be nice to know what your reasoning is). The merger should be the other way around. "University College" is a proper noun and given its usage by various university's with a University College under naming conventions both words should capitalized. University college should be merged into University College. —ExplorerCDT 16:07, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

I think they are actually two different things, and should not be merged. The "University College" page is a disambiguate page, listing several institutions known by that name. The "University college" page is a definition of a particular type of institution — "that provides tertiary education but does not have full or independent university status". I think what we really want is an otheruses tag at the top of each article.Lisamh 22:34, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I also oppose this merge. University College is a list of institutions that take that name (many of which, are not 'university colleges'). This page is about the concept of a university college. The otheruses tag is a good idea, though. --Robdurbar 09:55, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Link to German "Hochschule" is wrong

A university college is not the same as a "Hochschule" -- the pages should thus not be linked in this way. 195.72.107.83 (talk) 16:01, 22 February 2012 (UTC)

Canadian "university" title

I have not been able to locate a Canadian regulation or act that says the title "university" is protected and added a "citation needed" reference to this article. DirectorOfBaconology (talk) 15:00, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
