What needs to be explained in this article is the political ideology of the party, ie. is it right wing, left wing, a red party, blue party, green party, etc? SD6-Agent 15:18, 11 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

I honestly have no idea, but attempting to interpret the sayings on their official site:
'We believe in a small competent government that promotes democracy, private enterprise and the empowerment of people through the exercise of choice and participation.'
'A lean and efficient public sector will ensure that government intervention is limited only to those activities, which it must do to defend the integrity of the nation and the welfare of the people. It will strive to create the right mix of economic policies with an environment that is attractive to business.'
'a small, earnest efficient and transparent government that gives support to a big and strong private sector.'
The above is supportive of minarchism/mixed economy policies. Whereas
'We believe that the concept of security goes beyond militarism to ensuring protection from fear of want for those basic needs that imply the minimum quality of life. We believe that every Liberian should enjoy equal treatment in this concept of human security.'
'Unity Party will strive to help every Liberian in meeting their basic needs, first and foremost by helping to restore their ability and capacity to do for themselves. We will seek to assess the current needs of the people in the areas of food, shelter, medical care and clean water throughout the country. Special programs to inoculate children against a variety of deadly diseases will be implemented rapidly. Particular attention will be paid to girl child and to young women as a means for countering the growing habit of prostitution for survival.'

Nmber of seats edit

Hi, I noticed that the numbers of seats given here (11/30 in the Senate, 22/64 in the House) differs from the numbers in the Liberian general election, 2005 article (4/30 in the Senate and 8/64 in the House). Which numbers (if any) are correct…? – Danmichaelo (talk) 17:03, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The latter numbers are the ones given in [1], p. 13. – Danmichaelo (talk) 17:07, 7 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
