Talk:United Democratic Movement

It has an anti-separatist, pro-diversity platform; and supports an individualist South Africa with a strong moral sense, in both social and economic senses.

This is the political equivalent of management drivel. It uses a number of political buzzwords but tells the reader nothing about what the party actually stands for. Flagboy

Involvement of the UDM in political violence in KwaZulu-Natal

edit

The article does not make any mention of the involvement of one of it's office bearers, Sifiso Nkabinde, in political violence in Richmond, KwaZulu-Natal — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sarahbasson61 (talkcontribs) 16:33, 10 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Opening Paragrph

edit

The current opening paragraph is quite poorly written and contains soem missifomation such as saying that Roelf Meyer and Bantu Holomisa were leaders of the National Party and ANC respectively. I would sujest that it be cahnged to something along the lines of this:

The United Democratic Movement (UDM) is a centre-left, social-democratic, South African political party formed by prominent former National Party member Roelf Meyer, former African National Congress member and Transkei homeland leader Bantu Holomisa, and former ANC Executive Committee member, John Taylor. It has an anti-separatist, pro-diversity and pro-individualist platform.
