It's not a member of the conservative Internacional democrat Union, but (as the article on the Socialist International and the french article on this party well recall, it's a left party and a member of the Socialist International. Tshisekedi is the leader of the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS), DRC's oldest and largest opposition party. Critics say he is unproven, inexperienced and lacks the charisma of his father. 'His father was a man of the country.
