Move/Rename

edit

"Uman" was a DAB between this Uman, Ukraine and Oman. The latter can be mentioned simply at the top of Uman's article. Additionally, there is Uman (disambiguation) mentioning both. -Irpen 23:05, Jun 16, 2005 (UTC)

I thought I could short-circuit the request by first moving Uman to Uman (disambiguation). I did, but that still didn't let me move this article to Uman. Anyway, you've added the dab at the top, and the dab page is out of the way, so there's no possible controversy in this move. I'd say an admin could easily move this page without waiting five days for a bigger consensus. Michael Z. 2005-06-17 04:38 Z

ARTICLE MOVED already as per consensus. Issue closed. Thanks! -Irpen

Could we put this image in the "Jewish community" section of the article to show that there's at least a small Jewish presence in the city today? Just asking. – Jwkozak91 (talk) 03:37, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I dont think it's relevant, personally...--Львівське (talk) 16:10, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Reverting a very minor but absolutely correct revision

edit

History, line 7: ".....In the span of three days estimated[by whom?] 20,000[citation needed] Poles and Jews were slain with extreme cruelty." I shall remove the meta comments for clarity: ".....In the span of three days estimated 20,000 Poles and Jews were slain with extreme cruelty." There is very certainly an "an" missing between "days" and "estimated. I had added that "an". This has been reverted by a Ukrainian gentleperson, maybe the original author of this page; outraged. I am going to insert the "an" again and I beg that a moderator more familiar with English examine this revision.SBader (talk) 02:23, 24 January 2017 (UTC)Reply

A YouTube video from Kyiv Post is available: Jewish New Year: Ukraine Sees Record Number of Hasidic Pilgrims, Despite the War. It says that more than 30,000 people came to Uman to celebrate Rosh Hashanah in October 2024. That's probably not a reliable source but other information may become available.
