Plot
editWe have a guideline at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Writing about fiction, which says "The length of the prose should be carefully balanced with the length of the other sections, as well as the length of the story itself; simple plots may require only short summaries.". A film has a limit of 700 words of plot, this comic is barely in the 9º issue (with surely loads of stuff still to happen) and it is already in 1500 words, twice that size. Is there any need for it to be that long? Black Panther (film) is fine with just 685 words. Cambalachero (talk) 17:36, 7 October 2024 (UTC)

- How come Ultimate Spiderman (2024) gets a longer plot summary but not ultimate black panther? What about people who will come to this article to learn more about what's happening in ultimate black panther but find only a small paragraph of information about the events of the series. - What do you mean? Every film and book article on Wikipedia has their entire plot written out even the black panther article that was cited above https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Panther_(film). Here are five Wikipedia articles of books that have a plot summary that lays out the beginning, middle, and end of the book, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Of_Mice_and_Men, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lightning_Thief, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harry_Potter_and_the_Philosopher%27s_Stone, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankenstein, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Gatsby. Are you saying all these articles are incorrect? I was just pointing out an observation of how regular books have a plot summary that lays out the plot of the book from beginning to end but comic book series don't. So why does Great Gatsby get a plot summary but Ultimate Black Panther doesn't? Can someone just explain that to me? - Look at this article: List_of_Ultimate_X-Men_story_arcs. It's an example of how the individual arcs can be boiled down into one- or two-par summaries. There's nothing to stop this Black Panther page being organised in a similar way - especially over time.
- What @Cambalachero did was edit down a wall of text much longer than that which was describing barely half-a-dozen issues. There's little need for any arc to be longer than a par or two, as evidenced in the Ultimate X-Men link above. Peterspeterson (talk) 20:04, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

- Because both of those examples are ridiculously long - and should be drastically cut as well. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a recap site.
- As for "Many are eager to learn more about this series from Wikipedia", if people want more than a brief recap, they could just... read the comics. An encyclopedia is not supposed to be something that makes reading a piece of art redundant. Peterspeterson (talk) 02:23, 17 October 2024 (UTC)

editWhile we’re at it, why is someone spamming the Comicscored website on multiple comics Wiki pages? As far as I can see, it is a site with barely 200 X followers, no other social media presence, and no particular reason to be used as a legitimate source.
