Occupation already means capturing in military terminology. Yes, this is an occupation. For clarification. Beshogur (talk) 14:07, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

We shouldn't get too mixed up in terminology here. Has this been called an occupation by reliable sources? Did Ukraine declare its intention to annex the regions its currently present in Russia, like Russia does with Ukraine. I don't think this is an occupation, but an incursion aimed to divert Russian troops who are invading Ukraine. Ecrusized (talk) 16:22, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
It is considered an occupation because the Ukrainian have established administration system to maintain control, and like the above said in terms of military terminology yes its an occupation Dauzlee (talk) 16:56, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Annexation into Sumska Oblast

edit

A Twitter (X) post alledges/suggests that the occupied territories are being incorporated into Sudzha raion, Sumy Oblast. Would this be a reliable enough source to mention it as annexed into Sumy Oblast, or should we see the situation develop and possibly see more sources coming out? RAI interview

edit

Given the RAI journalists interview to the Ukrainian occupation forces in Kursk is mentioned, it would also be neat to mention that the interviewed soldiers was covered in Nazi symbols. 151.36.176.48 (talk) 01:00, 5 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

I suggest changing: "The August 2024 incursion was the first incidence since World War II that Russian territory had been occupied by foreign forces.[1]" in "The August 2024 incursion was the first incidence since Battle of Damansky Island that Russian territory had been occupied by foreign forces." The reason is that, even if it was a four-day period (March 1-2, a break on March 14-15, and a break on March 17), there was still an occupation of Russian (Soviet) territory. China directly declared its claims to the island, and the presence of Beijing soldiers on it may well be, or rather is considered an attempt at occupation (which they succeeded in doing for a time). This was after WWII, and before the Ukrainian events, which makes this episode a previous act of occupation of the Kremlin land, and also makes the source cited in the article inaccurate from a historical point of view, i.e. not authoritative. 31.202.71.56 (talk) 15:58, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done: The text you want changed is no longer present in the article. Bowler the Carmine | talk 17:37, 11 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
It's still present here "It was the first time since World War II that Russian territory was occupied by a foreign military." and the China-Soviet conflict is still ignored. 31.202.71.56 (talk) 17:14, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

About this page

edit

Is this page really needed while August 2024 Kursk Oblast incursion page, which is more extensively covers the events, exists? Asigooo (talk) 18:34, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

This page covers the occupation administration installed in the Kursk region by Ukraine, while the other article is about the fighting itself. (jabz) 18:52, 12 September 2024 (UTC)Reply

Add flag and coat of arms

edit

It is necessary to add:

| image_flag = Flag of Kursk People's Republic with Coat of Arms.svg

| image_shield = VKT RF.png

similarly with the Russian part of the Kharkov region, this flag and coat of arms are not quite official and no one has approved them. But as in Kharkov, it is used by military groups for identification, and it is hung on administrative buildings.[1] And since it is in the article about Kharkov, it should be here too. 31.202.71.56 (talk) 08:42, 11 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
