Other sources picking this up and now a quote from the Ukraine PM.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after the release of the recording that it “proves that the Iranian side knew from the start that our plane was hit by a missile. Everything is audible there,” Zelensky told 1+1. “Everything is recorded.”[1]

Needs to be added to the article, and put in the lede as well. Maybe a section will develop on this issue. Jtbobwaysf (talk) 20:05, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Its hardly of note to give more than a passing mention if that, clearly from the source the "Iranian side" was a pilot telling ATC what they saw, I would be wary of giving it to much prominence. MilborneOne (talk) 20:27, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
The Ukraine presidents quote about the Iranians lying of the cause of crash is hardy of note? ;-) Jtbobwaysf (talk) 12:02, 5 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I don't see a quote matching that characterization in that unanian.info source. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 16:03, 5 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

@El C: The material which was added during this edit is the comment of Facebook in fact and Alex-h have to mention it exactly. The source says that Gorji declined to comment further on the lawsuit, but in a Facebook post on January 25, he said families of the victims had launched a lawsuit against Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Hosseini Khamenei and the IRGC. How Important is a Person's Facebook Content? In addition, it seems that Alex-h repeats his behavior.Saff V. (talk) 06:54, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Just for the record, I removed that part as unencyclopedic/bad sourcing before your talk page edit, without thinking about which editor added it. Bad editing happens, and usually it is hard to decide what to apply, AGF or WP:SNEAKY? WikiHannibal (talk) 10:09, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
@WikiHannibal: thanks for the comment, I don't think wp:AGF could be applied because he repeated his behavior (play fast and loose with the facts and with proper attribution) when he was warned just 9 days ago for that! (see here and here)Saff V. (talk) 11:39, 19 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Investigator fired after admitting Iran kept airspace open, to prevent warning US of planed strikes on bases

edit

This should be mentioned. Seems that Iran decided not to close its airspace as not to raise alarm, and lose the element of surprise in air strikes on US bases in Iraq.--Darryl Kerrigan (talk) 23:30, 3 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
