Primary topic? edit

The only reason Ugetsu (the film article) is at its current location is that it is slightly better-known outside Japan than the original book, and the Wikipedia article on the film therefore predates that on the book. However, notability is not culture-specific, and the book is overwhelmingly more notable and better-known in Japan (the only country where either is widely known). It is currently disputed which is the "primary topic". I tried to move the article Ugetsu to Ugetsu (film) and was immediately opposed by one user. This user has been reverting almost every edit I make to articles relating to Japanese cinema. However, apparently recent moves that are opposed automatically get reverted. This does not mean that the film is the primary topic. elvenscout742 (talk) 13:56, 14 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

The consensus for primary topic for "Ugetsu" has been the film from 2005-2012 -- you can tell because it was created at Ugetsu and has remained there stably ever since. If you believe there may be a new consensus for no primary topic, use WP:RM to show the new consensus to move Ugetsu to Ugetsu (film) and Ugetsu (disambiguation) to Ugetsu. -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:09, 14 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
