In 1945 the USNS (United States Naval Ship) Jose Valdez was launched. So the Valdez in this article is not the first Navy shipped named for a person of Spanish descent. Let’s not forget the Admiral Farragut was Spanish. (Farragut, properly pronounced “Farra-goot”). There may be other earlier ships so named.98.162.136.248 (talk) 14:32, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
