Namesake edit
I noticed that people keep adding the either the First Battle of Tripoli Harbor (1802), the Second Battle of Tripoli Harbor (1804) or just Battle of Tripoli Harbor (disambiguation page) as the namesake for USN ships named "Tripoli" (see also CVE-64 & LPH-10). According to US Naval History and Heritage Command, these vessels were named for the Battle of Derne (1805).[1] FYI - theWOLFchild 00:57, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

- I think you are correct. Per Future USS Tripoli Keel Authenticated and Ingalls, Navy authenticate keel on newest amphibious assault ship Tripoli, Lynne Mabus and Steve Senk served as keel co-authenticators, but only Lynne Mabus is described as the ship sponsor in those articles. Per the Navy, Navy to Christen Amphibious Assault Ship Tripoli, only Lynne Mabus is the sponsor. I'm going to update the article. —RP88 (talk) 03:39, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
