Talk:USS Stump

Chronology edit

looks like an inconsistency in the chronolgy - I had the interesting experience of actually spending a week aboard the Stump in 1986. I was a civilian contractor working on the ASWCS system in San Diego, CA, when we were asked to support testing of the 53-C sonar at AUTEC in the Bahamas. I’ll have to dig out some of the pictures I took, but I thought the ship had already received the VLS system at that time. Your history lists that as being installed later (1990). I am not sure, you might be correct, because we were doing a lot of work with the VLS system at that time, so my memory may be playing tricks on me. However, your history also lists the AN/SQQ-89 (ASWCS) system as being installed at the same time as the VLS upgrade. I was there at AUTEC specifically because I was working ASWCS, and I can tell you that it was definitely on the ship at that time. In fact, I found and fixed 2 bugs in the ASWCS software during my time onboard.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.106.52.24 (talkcontribs) 20:31, August 6, 2007
