Myriad technical problems edit

The entire LCS program has been dogged by technical issues, some of which were predictable.  In mentioning that the Sioux City was decommissioned less than five years after it was commissioned, I’m puzzled why no mention was made of the Navy’s disappointment with the performance, operating cost and relibility of these ships.

This is something that should probably be posted on, and addressed at, the main Talk:Littoral combat ship page. (imo) - wolf 20:56, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
The reason for this particular ship's extremely short lifespan (only four and a half years) needs be added to the article for this particular ship, USS Sioux City, because this ship has the shortest length of service of them all (commissioned 17 November 2018, decommissioned 14 August 2023). There must have been something seriously wrong with this particular ship, because that four and a half year lifespan is possibly the shortest length of service of any US Navy ship in modern history that wasn't sunk or involved in a collision, fire, sabotage, running aground, or other major disaster. I think Wikipedia readers need to know what was wrong with this particular ship that made the Navy decommission it after only four and a half years. Gato63 (talk) 17:13, 9 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
