Owned by a civilian compagny ( Messagerie Maritime ) , the ship was clearly an civilian freight and passenger ship .
Why that ship is tagged as a Warship ??
It would also be interesting how the ship ended in the USN , did the crew defected to Free France or was forced by the bording force .
