This article doesn't mention just how close the ship came too her demise in
Hurricane David. With only half the crew on board to help fight the class five Hurricane for three days and nights in the eye of the Hurricane, lost her motor whale boat and had to be sent to be repaired in the ship yards witch took three months to migweld her supper structure back together ,that's everything above the main deck so asto make her sea worthy again. If not for the courage of the fearless crew the USS PATTERSON would have been lost at sea, inside of the Bermuda Triangle. Wikipedia would need a reliable published source for that. Book, newspaper articles, reliable website, etc. See WP:RS. --Dual Freq (talk) 00:21, 18 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
