Operation Linebacker edit

The Chaffroc was not the device that malfunctioned in the Linebacker mission. It was a different device that used the exhaust from the stacks to carry a bundle of chaff away from the ship as it bloomed. It was used successfully in previous missions. However, during the mission mentioned in the article, instead of launching a bundle, the device misfired and streamed the chaff out. To establish my credentials, I was the operator of that device. I will edit the article as needed.Cosmicship (talk) 21:15, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edited the Linebacker and End Sweep missions. Deleted (I was stationed in the forward 5" .38 gunmount as the right projectile-man.), as that is not appropriate for a ship's history. Also deleted (We were the last Naval Gunship to leave the waters of North Vietnam.), as that is not verified and may be incorrect. Consider Operation End Sweep - Mason was relieved while this was still going on. The last End Sweep ships would have been the last US Naval Gunships to leave.Cosmicship (talk) 05:16, 16 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

USS Leonard F. Mason Website edit

The link change to the site has been tagged possible conflict of interest. It is not. As the webmaster of the site, I have moved it to a new service provider. The site will continue to grow at the new location and be of further usefulness to those studying the history of the ship and the events it participated in. I believe the reason the system tagged it as a possible conflict is because my user name is cosmicship and the domain name of the new site has cosmicship in it.
