The British name HMS Boxer was named after the competitor in a boxing match. For USS Boxer, the name may have the same origin. Just my guess. LanceBarber 07:18, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

The fourth Boxer sponsored by "Mrs. J. H. Tomb" was not cited and was replaced with Mrs. Drury, with citation. LanceBarber 08:28, 5 October 2007 (UTC)Reply
