I am considering a major edit to this article. This will include the addition of photos. I have abundant historical information concerning Northwind from official, and crewmember sources. I also have extensive verifiable references for said material. I anticipate starting this project in 2010. Please share your thoughts or ideas. Maxarre: what do you say ? Please see email below. I am considering deleting the reference from DANFS regarding the grounding of NORTHWIND at Dundas Harbour, Devon Island, NT on 27 July 1946. I searched National Archives, but found no logbooks for this time period. Several logbooks are scattered around at various museums, but, none of these cover same period. In this article I am using a military/naval date format DD/MM/YYYY (e.g. 04 August 1790). This format is commonly used for reports, orders, award narratives, and most importantly; signals/communications, etc. It is used in the Canadian and American forces. Examples are abundant.
