THIS PAGE READ LIKE A PRESS RELEASE. Discussing the quality and public opinion regarding the USA Pavilion, it shaded the truth through omissions and plain old misstatements. There are far more articles in the press and on blogs criticizing the USA Pavilion than praising it; few are quoted or cited here. Additionally, this article didn't discuss continuing controversies regarding the legality of aspects of the USA Pavilion -- for example, outsourcing what used to be a regular government function -- and its operation (including its 97% Chinese and American multinational ownership), or its implications for the future of American public diplomacy. Follow-Up

IT LATER TURNED OUT THAT MONEY-LAUNDERING may have been the deep purpose of the US pavilion effort, with a long, convoluted money trail allegedly reaching back into the US to affect the outcome of the 2010 midterm elections. The matter was referred to the IRS and now is before the US Tax Court for a further investigation. If the allegations about the US pavilion are correct, not only will tax-exempt contributions become subject to post facto taxation, but individuals may be charged with felony crimes.
