Stubs
editPerhaps I don't understand the use of stubs, but it seems that by adding both the Devon stub and the UK stub, more people will be inclined to review the article—which seems like a good thing. Is there some etiquette or style reason why a page can't have both? Ryan McDaniel 16:44, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

Death of Joe Turner in 2002
editHi I have just become aware that the Joe Turner passed away in 2002 and not 2004. If you Google search this all results will tell you that it is 2004 and this includes currently the offical Two Moors Way guide. I have had correspondence with a lot of key people involved included the two Moors Way Committee and they confirm this is a mistake. I have a copy of the Two Moors Way official guide that repeats the error. The fact remains that Devon County Council errected the memorial to Joe Turner in 2003 (see my photo on link below). It is not possible that he died in 2004. Those that knew him confirm he died in 2002 and the 2004 date is a mistake.
I have just written a description of this on my own website

This is a photo of the memorial plaque dated 2003:

- Today I have been sent a photocopy of "A tribute to Joe Turner" by John Bainbridge which appears in the Newsletter of the Dartmoor Preservation Association. Newsletter 149 (August 2002) p5. That is a good solid source that confirms that he died in March 2002 and not in 2004. DartmoorDave (talk) 19:25, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
