Christian metal edit

Hmmm provide a source that says they're a Christian metal band then it can be included. Well, that these three sources only review Christian bands: https://www.newreleasetoday.com/artistdetail.php?artist_id=1490 http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/cdreviews/ShockValue.asp http://www.crossrhythms.co.uk/products/Twelve_Gauge_Valentine/Shock_Value/19766/ makes a compelling case. None of them are going to say "Christian" (which as a proper noun should always be capitalized), but I don't have a source to support your term. I'm not gonna argue over this, despite the sources you've given only implying that they may be Christian band (and yes I know that Christian is a proper noun, I generally don't include any capitals in my edit summaries, it's just a personal thing, as I told you last time you told me the same thing), I think I read a Metal Hammer interview where the guitarist said most of the band weren't Christian, but I can't find what issue that was in, so I'm not going to claim that I do. I understand, both issues, and I recognize that the evidence is circumstantial.

There are a few elements around what constitutes a Christian band: 1) a band of members who—or whose primary lyricist is—self-identify as Christians 2) who make music about Christian topics 3) for a an audience of self-identifying Christian. Mainstream contemporary Christian music bands and performers hit all three points. Many bands have started to shy away from item 2 and focus on "clean" or "positive" lyrics. I've seen some bands and performers shy away from the "Christian" label using arguments such as "people are Christian, music isn't". I agree that it would be best to find a source that clearly states that the band is "Christian", but until then, this be the best we can do. Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:02, 13 October 2018 (UTC)Reply
