editare you fucking serious guys ~locky
come on locky, this article isn't hurting anyone, so im not sure why you want it gone so bad ~marina
locky, please stop adding deletion templates to this article. we are trying to create a serious article about a location that we find relevant enough to have a wikipedia article. the fact that we've joked about it in the past doesn't make our intentions any less pure. -arale — Preceding unsigned comment added by Araleiwakura (talk • contribs) 18:55, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
yes lets make a serious article by posting random links to a fanon wiki which actually just a damn joke, this joke is getting way too damn far guys ~locky — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.71.141.130 (talk) 18:57, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
we're just reporting on major events in the turtle canyon fandom. i think thats ok if it doesnt dominate the article. -arale — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.190.229 (talk) 19:11, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
the problem is that no such thing as "turtle canyon fandom" exists and fandom is not a thing relevant to the main article. do you see sonic fandom on the sonic page? no. quit this joke thing and make this a serious article. ~locky — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.71.141.130 (talk) 19:15, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
actually, response to media is often relevant, most media has a reception section on their wikipedia page. also, there is such a thing as turtle canyon fandom. anything that has fans has a fandom because the word fandom is just all the fans of something. i am a fan of turtle canyon. -arale — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.190.229 (talk) 19:18, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
fantendo is not a form of media, it is a wiki for fake games nor is the turtle canyon, it is a location. the only fans of the place are you and marina because it is so wacky lol xd xd xd -locky — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.71.141.130 (talk) 19:24, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
i dont understand? what does a fanon wiki have to do with what i said? turtle canyon is a form of media (its an attraction at a zoo). what are you talking about? -arale — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.168.190.229 (talk) 19:27, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
"actually, response to media is often relevant, most media has a reception section on their wikipedia page." the only "media" that responded to the turtle canyon has been fantendo and no other one. stop with this joke already and make this a serious article. ~locky — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.71.141.130 (talk) 19:28, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
i said response to media is often relevant. turtle canyon is the media, and its fans are the reception. but anyway, we dont even have a reception section here, so why are you arguing against it? please stop messing with our attempts to contribute to wikipedia just because you happened to be blocked on another wiki that some contributors have used. Araleiwakura (talk) 19:32, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
i'm not talking about the "reception" i'm talking about the "it gained popularity as a meme in various wiki-based sites", beause fantendo is the only website that uses it as a meme and even so only you, marina, elise and lumoshi does it and everyone is sick of that joke already. contribuiting to wikipedia, more like "doing wacky shit" ~locky
if youre going to attack us because youre angry about other things, dont do it on an unrelated website. it makes this page look unprofessional. i have nothing more to say to you. Araleiwakura (talk) 19:42, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
you guys are making it unprofessional by liking it to your fake games wiki instead of being an actual relevant link with actual relevant info. you don't have anything else to say to me because you are just like all the admins, you always think that you are right and if anyone is against you, you create a fake reason to why that and goes to ban the person. but you don't have any powers here, so you shut up instead. great job. ~locky — Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.71.141.130 (talk) 19:45, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
Drive-by comments about this stupid edit war
editYou guys are really flooding the recent-change feed! Anyway, here's my 2c:
- Wikia is not a reliable source, because anyone can edit it, and there's no editorial oversight. So the use of it to support the "recent meme", is not appropriate.
- If this meme is so notable, find another source for it. Is there even one?
- The Three-Revert Rule is what they call a "bright line rule", meaning that if you cross it, you get blocked, right or wrong. You both have pole-vaulted over it, so knock it off.
- This article, imho, shouldn't even be here. Unless Turtle Canyon is especially notable on its own (separate from the aquarium), then all this should be merged into the main aquarium article.
- Again, knock it off.
Thank you for your attention, its in your collective court now. Electric Wombat (talk) 20:23, 9 July 2014 (UTC)
- "Wikia is not a reliable source, because anyone can edit it" Ironic. 99.241.151.203 (talk) 01:24, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- Not at all. See WP:WINARS for exactly why. Electric Wombat (talk) 01:27, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
Merge
editSeriously, merge to Newport Aquarium. Why is this here? Hairhorn (talk) 18:31, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- Agree: Merge as per my comments in the previous section. Electric Wombat (talk) 00:32, 11 July 2014 (UTC)
- Support merge. Individual attractions such as this are rarely notable enough to support a stand-alone article, and this one certainly doesn't seem to be. Deor (talk) 13:26, 20 August 2014 (UTC)
The contents of the Turtle Canyon page were merged into Newport Aquarium and it now redirects there. For the contribution history and old versions of the merged article please see its history. |
