Nuclear Powered vessels edit

The Turkish President has made it clear that we would like to acquire Nuclear powered aircraft carriershttp://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/naval/2016/05/06/turkey-setting-sails-big-naval-ambitions/83961760/. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.241.130.229 (talk) 05:24, 9 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 24 June 2016 edit

I would like to add the total non-auxiliary fleet displacement numbers to your page. The Turkish Naval Force possesses a total displacement of 139,528 metric tons, it the the 15th largest navy in the world. Source: http://www.futurebattles.com/en/countries/ranking_naval_navies

Not done: FurtureBattles.com is not a valid reliable source. It clearly cites WP, and states that it's "for entertainment purposes only". Sorry. - BilCat (talk) 03:54, 24 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Commander-in-chief edit

As per Turkish constitution article 104, the president represents the office of commander-in-chief on behalf of the Turkish Grand National Assembly.

I therefore suggest to amend the article and remove the misleading claim of the president being commander-in-chief or clarify by adding that the ultimate authority lies with the parliament. PoorTom (talk) 22:02, 12 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Establishment edit

@SilentResident: hey, this article also contains pseudo-establishment dates. I think they should be deleted. What do you think?--V. E. (talk) 18:07, 16 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I remember this article being brought in the discussion about pseudo-dates, I believe that consistency and application of rules is important to the integrity of the Project. False claims such as pseudo-states have no place in an encyclopedia whose purpose is to provide the readers only fact-checked and verified information. The pseudo-dates will have to be removed from the present article, like how they were removed from the other articles too. I really appreciate the time and effort in correcting these violations to Wikipedia's rules, something that was supposed to have been done a long time ago by those who added these fringe dates in the first place. --- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 01:15, 17 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

No, The dates are "pseudo". The Republic of Turkey is the continuation of the Ottoman Empire. Therefore, it would be correct to specify the establishment date of the Ottoman navy. Such as Spanish navy is based on the founding date of the Spanish Imperial navy, not the modern foundation date. Is modern Spanish Navy established in 13th century? Look, they don't even show modern foundation. It only says 13th century.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_Navy We should write there 14th century as foundation of ottoman imperial navy and we can write the modern founding date under it. See WP:OTHERCONTENT--V. E. (talk) 12:15, 14 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Tell me why the ottoman is not the ancestor of turkey? I can show you many sources about when the ottoman navy was founded. What is your counter-argument? Take a good look at the Navy's logo, there's a founding date there! You cannot change the page because of Turkish hostility and racism. Banana6cake. (talk) 21:02, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Look at these establishment dates lol https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Republic_of_Iran_Navy https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Navy Banana6cake. (talk) 21:29, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@SilentResident: this user is edit warring to add the non-factual date to the article. I don't want to revert it back in order not to start a total-war. Any advice?--V. E. (talk) 05:51, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Revert their edits, throw a warning to their talk pages, and if they don't heel to the warnings, report them to ANI and have them blocked. No concessions to Wikipedia's rules. --- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 09:27, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Done, the problematic edits have been reverted. Enjoy. :-) --- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 09:45, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Prove it. Why they were "non-factual" Banana6cake. (talk) 22:36, 17 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Banana6cake.: There is nothing to prove. A fact is a fact: establishment date can only be about the topic's subject and nothing else. Perhaps you aren't familiar with how Wikipedia works. It is time to familiarize yourself with the project's core policies, and particularly WP:VERIFIABILITY and WP:NEUTRAL, as well as how WP:CONSENSUS works before ever touching upon any similar topics to this in the future. And I suggest that you read the discussion at Talk:Turkish Land Forces on fringe dates: [2] and drop this brash attitude of yours if you don't want to get into any serious troubles. Good day. --- SilentResident (talk ✉ | contribs ✎) 18:46, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

For some reason, only the Greeks are always against me in such matters and trying to change the truth :D That's why we have to question how objective you are. If you're threatening to restrict my freedom of expression, you're not following the rules either. You deny the date even on the navy logo, and you don't even give me any proof. You can threaten me all you want, it's fine. Banana6cake. (talk) 13:41, 23 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
