Erzurum-Kars?? edit

Erzurum-Kars and kurds? Come on...

"Borders of historical Kurdistan" map edit

The borders are overrated.

Population figure could do with expanding edit

Population in the summary states as per source being 20 million Kurds as of 2016. I think it is worth adding the date to the text just for a bit of context and accuracy. TataofTata (talk) 01:44, 28 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

Şanlıurfa=Ufra edit

'Şanlıurfa' should be changed to 'Ufra (Şanlıurfa)' to properly reflect accurate naming. --TataofTata (talk) 13:27, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've added the Urfa, feel free to adapt it. As to me it is good to name both names as for some readers it might not be clear that Sanliurfa and Urfa are the same. I tried to do it similarly as it was done with Karaköse and Agri.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 23:49, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
I cannot adapt it as I am unable to edit the page. I guess because I do not have 500 edits as required (getting close). I am not sure if I am able to request it as I like to work on improving Kurdish related articles, anyway. It seems more accurate to state it as Ufra (Şanlıurfa), because that is what the local people commonly call it if I am not wrong. --TataofTata (talk) 15:50, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Paradise Chronicle: I would like to say, we shouldn't change the quotes, even a bit, also we shouldn't use links on quotes. Beshogur (talk) 09:20, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • The quote on this article is an extract from a book, not a quote per say. As my understanding this page refers to Turkish Kurdistan specifically, not Kurdish inhabited areas and some refer to the Kurds as being from the east of Turkey, which isn't quite accurate in context of the topic.
  • Is there a guideline to not use links in quotes that you are referring to? --TataofTata (talk) 15:50, 26 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

Original research edit

Just a reminder that per WP:OR, content needs to be explicitly supported by sources. The sources I removed in this edit do not support the statement that the term Turkish Kurdistan is frequently used in academia. These are just a bunch of papers on unrelated topics that happen to use the term, it's the editor's interpretation that this amounts to frequent use, hence it's original research. The information can of course be reinstated with proper sourcing. --GGT (talk) 17:26, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Extended-confirmed-protected edit request on 15 March 2022 edit

under demographics, last paragraph. "forced immigration since the 90s" definitely requires a source, which can't be provided as it's a baseless, subjective claim 95.5.137.106 (talk) 07:29, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

The phrase was sourced but it seemed copy pasted, so I copy-edited it a bit and updated the source.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 07:40, 15 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Irrelevant name? edit

The name “Turkish Kurdistan” is the name commonly used by Kurdish seperatists to describe part of the land they claim. I think re-naming it to “Kurdish inhabited areas of Turkey” or something along those lines could suit this page more. Syrianchessman (talk) 21:00, 15 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
