"Turbonegro (Turboneger in Norway) is a Norwegian band who combine heavy metal, rock and punk music into a non-politically-correct version of punk."

Isn't the purpose of -real- punk to be anti political correctness?

---

I think the phrase non-politically-correct version of punk tries to make a statement to where turbonegro's style is at. It shows wether it is more similar to the sex pistols or to blink 182 (placing these bands at opposite extremes of political-correctness).

-- I think we should stop trying to label them as anything but what they have labeled themselves. "Deathpunk".

--- Blink and Sex Pistols aren't so much as the opposite ends, you're making big relative assumptions there.

---Quoting: "Isn't the purpose of -real- punk to be anti political correctness?" "...non-politically-correct version of punk..." Those two sentences explain it perfectly. If -real- punk is supposed to be that way, and turbonegro is also the non-politically-correct version of punk, then what are tehy?? the MOST anti political correctness punks of them all. I've uploaded each members' photo to their respective pages. Elchafa 03:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Deathpunk

The term "Deathpunk" was used in Toronto as of the early 80's (perhaps late 70's) to describe a genre of music known in other parts of the USA as Death-rock.

And why is deathpunk now redirected to a specific band? TheDarknessVisible 18:22, 23 April 2007 (UTC)

Homages Edits

The "Homages" section incorrectly lists that "Get it On" uses the riff from "I Just Want to Have Something to Do" by the Ramones as wells as "Next Big Thing" by the Dictators. This is incorrect.

The main riff for "Get it On" is E A C F, while the main riff for "I just Want to Have Something to Do" is G# F# E. Additionally, the main riff for "Next Big Thing" is A G C. While all songs have a similar rhythm, the riffs are quite different in each song, each using a distinct pattern.

The scaling octaves before the bridge in "Get it On" are certainly inspired by "Next Big Thing."

I'm surprised nobody added the obvious lifting of "Night Theme" by Iggy Pop and James Williamson for the end of "Are You Ready for Some Darkness?"

I will make these edits, if anyone has any additional comments please feel free to share them.

WIKIPEDIA ALERT

The term "DNA equivalent" is in this article. Do songs have genes? This band is cool, please don't make it sound pretentious. -USERNAME —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.240.64.45 (talk) 11:38, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
