edit

Based on a preliminary Babelfish translation, the German article appears to be about the "Lily Mottle Virus", a different though closely related virus that attacks primarily lilies. --Whoop whoop pull up Bitching Betty | Averted crashes 20:19, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lead/Body not balanced

edit

The lead talks of the Tulip mania but this is not discussed in the text - surely there needs to be a brief section on this? Similarly, reference is made at the end to fine 'broken' tulips but these had not been mentioned until then. Needs tidying, with a section describing the commercial importance of tulips, the virus and the mania, and probably the aftermath too. Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:03, 4 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Italics

edit

Since "Tulip breaking virus" is not a systematic name or even a single virus, there is no reason to put it in italics. Unfortunately {{Virusbox}} still applies italics automatically and provides no way to turn them off. Hairy Dude (talk) 02:37, 19 May 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • I reverted my removal of italics as it turns out the literature supports this usage. I feel like it's incorrect, but I'm not going to contradict the people who know what they're talking about :) Hairy Dude (talk) 02:59, 19 May 2022 (UTC)Reply
