First entry edit

This is my first entry, so maybe I've done something wrong, but the Tudor Arms Apartments is my home. I am the Home Owners Association Board Secretary and only want to have a historical reference to my building. Nothing is for sale. Please let me know what I need to change in order to meet the non-advertising requirements. Thank you. Mettled (talk) 06:01, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

It does read like a sales brochure. I'm not sure it can be modified to appear objective without a total rewrite, which is why it's been proposed for deletion. Stickier, however, is the issue of notability - is this building notable enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia? I don't think it is. Dethme0w (talk) 05:15, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm not a copywriter so maybe I can get some help rewriting this. I do believe it belongs on Wikipedia because there was already a link existing in the Portland section of the Portland Historical Society page. Mettled (talk) 06:01, 6 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Being on the national register just about guarantees notability, I took out what I deemed the most advert-like text. Did you by chance copy and paste the info from somewhere? Be sure to be aware of our copyright policy. Also, anything in the article that is original research--that is, it's from personal observation--you will need to back the info up with citations to reliable sources. Overall however, I think this is a fine first article and the pics are very good. I don't think you've done anything wrong, but be sure to check out our conflict-of-interest policy just to be safe. Citation for Bugsy Seigel edit

The information regarding Bugsy Seigel and Mickey Cohen was taken from a engraved plaque that is posted outside apartment #308. The plaque says exactly the same thing as the paragraph without reference to its source. I can post a photograph of the plaque if that helps. In the meantime, I will investigate the origins of the plaque and see if I can find out more. Thank you very much for the help in cleaning up this article.
